Fellowship Ministry Team

Fellowship: The New Testament word koinonia, translated fellowship, means sharing. It relates to things shared in common. The most important among things we have in common is the Gospel, but it also refers to our common suffering in Christ, a meal, and material resources. When we share (have fellowship) we grasp that every good gift is from God. The Fellowship Ministry team ministers in the areas of food and meals (Sunday coffee, after church potlucks, etc) which enhance fellowship, hospitality (lit. “love of strangers”), weddings, and funerals in which we share the joys and sorrows of life. 

At Refuge, the Fellowship Ministry Team is highly involved in enhancing fellowship by serving the congregation through potlucks, meals for the VBS volunteers, the congregational Thanksgiving Dinner and other events that include a meal. The Coffee Corner, Women's Fellowship activities, and the greeters on Sunday mornings also fall under our umbrella of service. 

 

Members of the Fellowship Team are using the spiritual gifts of service, helps, giving, hospitality, and administration to promote hospitality in the life of Refuge Church. Through serving on a ministry team, members gain a sense of belonging to the church body as a whole, and to the wider call of Christ's kingdom work in the Zimmerman area. For example, at the recent Refuge Family Fest, an all church event which was open to the public, the Fellowship Team organized the greeters, face painting, Bingo games, yard games and tot play areas to encourage fellowship between our church and visitors to the event.
