Daily Bible Readings
God's Word
Every believer in Jesus, as part of their life in Him, needs to spend time with Him. Daily Bible reading is a way to spend intentional time that goes along with a life that includes prayer, community and service.
To begin:
Read the daily text. Write a verse or short section in a journal or notebook.
Reflect. What is this passage/verse saying to you? Begin to write down your thoughts. Allow God to show you what He wants for you to see here. This might take some time but be intentional. It might not take much time at all. As you begin, you might just say, "I like this verse." Just write it down.
Apply. What is God telling you to do with this passage? Is He telling you to change something in your life? Is He asking you to share it with someone else? Maybe you aren't sure. The point is to think and ask God to guide you. Write down what God is putting on you heart.
Prayer. Talk with God. What might you want or need to say? What is God saying to you? Write down your prayer. Don't worry about if it is perfect, correct, too long, too short, just enjoy that you are spending this time with God.
A benefit of this process is knowing what you will read and that many others in the church are reading the same text.
